8th May 2020: Turangi trout fishing report

Weather: 18 degree C (day), 6 degree C (evening), Sunny, South Wind Gusty

Sunday 5th May delivered well needed rain to the central North Island Lake Taupo and Turangi area this lasted for a good couple days with rain coming from a north west direction this gave us enough rain to flood all rivers and streams flowing into Lake Taupo.
Fly fishing Turangi rivers since the flood with all the summer algae and slime build up gone has been good with local anglers having some nice quite fishing conditions catching fresh Rainbow trout and Brown trout.

Tuesday evening was the arrival of the first strong southerly bringing the first snow fall of the year for the Central North island and Kaimanawa Range Turangi area. River and stream mouths around Lake Taupo are fishing well for anglers and will improve as the full moon slowing leaves.

Cheers tight lines
