Fishing with Kenny with you was a joy. Not only do you really know your stuff but your enthusiasm is infectious and you didn't once laugh at my casting ability! Sight fishing in gin clear water around Taupo and Turangi, especially in some of your "secret" spots, is as good as it gets although it would be impossible without your experience of the water and your eyesight. I look forward to my return.Jin (Hitoshi "Jin" Suenaga M.D., Ph.D.)
If you have a chance to fish in beautiful N.Z. wildness, Ken Drummond can make it better. He is skilled in guiding, scheduling and pointing fish.I recommend Japanese fisherman to fish with Ken Drummond. Dry Fly fishing using his original fly makes me exciting and happy every time.
Dr. Ken Robertson and Harold Pindar
Dr. Ken Robertson and Harold Pindar had a wonderful week with you on The Tongariro River, 34 fish all catch and release. I find at my age 73 that I need to go into training, casting on the front lawn to build my arm and shoulder muscles up for next time.Very best regards Ken Robertson

I visited the Taupo region around Christmas of 2007. Friends of the managers at Creel Lodge had booked us to stay there and we had a wonderful room and a fantastic interaction with Jon and Lyn, who treated us like family. Creel Lodge recommended Kenny Drummond as our guide and Kenny took us to Lake Otamangankau, which is about an hour's drive from Turangi. It is a beautiful lake with crystal clear water and outstanding mountain views. And the fish are what visitors imagine when they think about fishing in New Zealand. Huge, strong, beautiful rainbows, large strong beautiful brownies, and lots of action all day long. Overall, its one of my best fishing experiences ever and I have lots of opportunity, as I live in Wyoming in the USA, where there is plenty of fishing action to be had. I hope I will get back to Taupo again soon to see Jon, Lyn, and Kenny and to enjoy their hospitality and great fishing!Best wishes,

Turangi is reputed to be the fishing Capital of The World. I first went there from Australia, in 1995. I was guided by Ken Drummond.Ken is a great teacher, who challenges his clients to get the best out of them.
He is a very professional guide, skilled in the use of wet or dry fly, polaroiding and different casting techniques.
He knows the "Hot Spots" in all the crystal clear rivers in the area, including the mighty Tongariro River and Lake Otamangankau (best known as the BIG "O" or Lake "O"). whether wading in the river, or in a boat on "Lake O" or in the back country by helicopter he knows the "Places".
I have so enjoyed myself that I have been back twice a year since then with my mate Joe.
I have also introduced my stepson, grandson and son in law to Ken and fly fishing.
There are rainbow and brown Trout in all the rivers but Lake O has the biggest, we have caught many there to 13lbs.
